Karamū

Karamū (Coprosma robusta) is a fast-growing native shrub commonly used in restoration projects because it establishes quickly and provides shelter for slower-growing species.

Its berries are an important food source for native birds, which in turn help disperse seed and support natural regeneration throughout the surrounding environment.

Well suited to stream margins and riparian corridors, Karamū is often one of the first species to establish in restoration areas and helps create the conditions needed for more diverse native habitats to develop over time.

Karamū also makes an excellent choice for local gardens and lifestyle blocks, where it provides shelter, attracts birds and supports biodiversity.
